M&M Design Lab Hours Fall 09

The open lab hours for the Music and Multimedia Building for Fall 09 are:
Mon - 3:30-5:00pm, room M&M015
Fri - 9:00am tp 5:00pm, room M&M018
Sat: 9:00am to 3:00pm either room

Remember, if you are a current Bucks Mutimedia or Graphic Design student, you can call security to open the labs any time, just remember to bring your current student ID.

New York Trip

The Department of the Arts trip to New York is scheduled for October 23, 2009. The bus will leave from the College and return to the College. There are stops planned for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art and the Chelsea Art Galleries. Tickets are available in the Department office. Please note the sooner you buy your ticket the less expensive.

New to You design lectures: Blue Design, Thursday, November 19, 2009


Blue Design is a full service post-production, audio, and design studio in Philadelphia. With a focus on live action, editorial, audio, and motion graphics, Blue Design has created work for several nationally recognized companies (some of whom call Philadelphia home), including SpikeTV, Hershey Park, Comcast, AIG, Motorola, and Anthropologie. In addition to their commercial work, Blue Design has engaged with both local and global organizations to create an impressive body of work that includes short films, audio, and video montages that can be seen the world over.

Co-founded in 2008, Well Fed is an interactive design studio that has quickly distinguished itself and enjoyed success as a result of its unique approach to design in the interactive realm. Designing “interactions between people and brands,” Well Fed leverages its comprehensive grasp and application of today’s most cutting-edge technology, combined with an understanding of time-tested design principles, to offer its clients a range of creative and interactive services. Well Fed’s capabilities include website design and development; web applications, utilities, and video; mobile sites, applications, and games; interactive projection systems and kiosks; cms design and development, and much, much more.

New to You is a three-part lecture series that focuses on local and regional professionals who inspire creativity and bring a sense of pride to the Philadelphia area design community. Located on the Main Line, Two Paperdolls is a custom design studio, specializing in unique social and corporate design, with a specialty in letterpress printing. Founded in 2000, Two Paperdolls has grown from a custom invitation business, to full-fledged design studio offering identity systems, promotional pieces, brochures, and much more—all reflecting their signature design style and letterpress production. In 2006, Two Paperdolls expanded their business and founded Louella Press—a retail collection of exclusive invitations and note cards available in boutiques and paperies nationwide. Most recently, Two Paperdolls opened Pressed 55, a full-service commercial letterpress and design shop located in suburban Philadelphia.

DesignPhiladelphia: October 07 – 13, 2009

Moving into its fifth year, DesignPhiladelphia is the largest national celebration of its kind. This city-wide cultural event spotlights all things design from architecture to interior design, fashion to product design, textile to graphic design. It's a journey exploring exhibitions, workshops, studio tours, lectures, special events and product roll-outs that inspire, engage, excite and delight.
